Nancy, the younger, was saddened by the loss of her namesake but felt grateful for the time she had spent with her grandmother and the lessons she had learned from her.

In honor of Nancy’s memory, Lucia and Ackles decided to start a scholarship fund for aspiring young women interested in pursuing careers in the military or public service.

They wanted to continue Nancy’s legacy of service, bravery, and empowerment, ensuring that her spirit lived on in future generations.

They felt grateful for the life they had built together and the memories they had created as a family. Despite the inevitable challenges and hardships, they knew that they could face anything as long as they had each other.
