Lions are known as the Kings of the jungle all over the world. The first thing you learn about the wilderness is that the Lion is at the top of the food chain.
They walk around parading their muscular physique and commanding respect. The idea of encountering a lion sends shivers down anyone’s spine. It is not the attack that makes you scared but fear of the unknown: not knowing if you will be dinner, friend, or foe.
Danger Lurking

Most people who have encountered lions or have gone on game reserves receive a stern warning not to get too close to the animal or engage it in any shape or form. The attack alone is so swift that by the time you scream for help, it will be too late.
Trainers never let emotions cloud their judgment when dealing with such creatures, but Adolfo decided to throw logic out the window and follow instinct for some odd reason. Most called it insanity, and he called it passion.
Meeting Kiara

Adolfo rescued Kiara after finding her in Mexico and decided to train her. Adolfo and Kiara instantly connected when they met, and Adolfo brought her back to the shelter and raised her.
Meeting the cub was love at first sight for Adolfo, and he suddenly developed an instant need to care for Kiara and make sure she survives in her new environment. Kiara was more than just an animal he rescued, but his daughter and he would protect her at all costs.
The Origins Of Kiara

The first thing parents struggle with is finding a strong, noble, and suitable name for their new baby; for Adolfo, that was not the problem. The name Kiara has a wide range of meanings in different languages. In Italian, it means ‘bright’ while in Hindi, it translates to ‘God’s precious gift,’ and in Korean, it means ‘first ray of sun.’
The meaning of this name simply explains the relationship Adolfo has with Kiara. The cub meant more to him, and the feeling was mutual. Kiara is his ray of sunshine.
Kiara’s Story

Adolfo named the cub Kiara in honor of the character in the Lion King. Adolfo brought Kiara to a wild animal reserve, where he helped raise and take care of her. Kiara in the Lion King is a princess who is curious about life and wants to be a pioneer.
Adolfo considered himself to be Kiara’s adoptive father. The two had formed such an undeniable bond. They both cared deeply for each other. Their bond transcended beyond the norm of trainer and animal.
Getting Bigger And Fierce

The older Kiara became, the more they realized that the facilities were also getting smaller for her. The wild animal sanctuary simply could not accommodate the growing cub anymore.
Adolfo had to make the heartbreaking decision to move Kiara to a sanctuary with a bigger and better facility that could accommodate a growing lioness and give her the space and care she needed. His heart tore into pieces at the idea of not seeing his Kiara daily.
New Home For The Big Cat

The Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation came to his rescue and soon became Kiara’s new home to accommodate her growing size. Eduardo Serio founded the establishment in 2013 after he rescued Cielo, a jaguar cub, which was being displayed in a pet shop window in Monerrey as an attraction.
The objective of the NPO has always been to rescue as many wild cats as possible while providing them with the best possible lives free from illegal hunting and endangerment.
Parting Ways

Adolfo documented his final cuddle with Kiara as the two bid farewell to one another. The moment was heartbreaking to watch. Both Adolfo and Kiara could feel that this was not their usual bye. Adolfo convinced himself that he was doing the best thing for Kiara, but guilt still lurked in the back of his mind.
They had such a powerful bond and saw each other every day that adjusting to a new routine felt brutal and devastating to both, life as they knew it was about to change.
Time Passes By

Sadly for Adolfo, time could not freeze for that moment. Adolfo missed Kiara dearly, but Kiara kept growing into a bigger, fiercer lioness and was no longer that cub Adolfo knew and left a year ago.
Many people had this belief that Kiara would forget about Adolfo and that the two would become strangers to each other, making him prey to the fierce animal.
Reunited And It Feels So Good

Adolfo had been missing Kiara and was miserable. A year had passed without seeing her and playing with her. The memories AAdolfo had of Kiara were those of a young cub. The reality was that Kiara had grown into a fierce and robust predator. Capable of attacking anyone who dared come near her.
Adolfo was eager for anything, including the worst; however, his love for Kiara made that fear a distant thought, but deep down, he couldn’t help but wonder if he was being presumptuous.
A Friendly Voice

The first thing Kiara heard was a familiar voice, a voice she had known since she was a cub, and this was proof enough that his voice had left a mark in her heart.
As soon as this happened, she started racing up and down the cage, became overly excited, and kept looking at the door. Adolfo’s voice alone made her edgy, and this caused the staff to panic. Kiara had convinced the team that she would become aggressive and attack.
Warm Embrace Of Terror

Adolfo followed his heart and love for Kiara, got inside the cage against the staff’s warning, and opened the gate. When Kiara came out and saw Adolfo, she lunged on top of him, frightening the staff for Adolfo’s life, only for it to end in a big cuddle.
She was overcome with so much excitement that she even tackled him to the ground scaring everyone watching, and kept playing with him and holding him tight.
Long Walk Of Fear

Kiara started getting restless and looking to the door, waiting in anticipation for the voice to belong to her beloved trainer. The staff advised Adolfo not to get close if she rattled the cage with her erratic behavior.
Adolfo was just as determined as Kiara, but as nervous as he was, he was just as overwhelmed to see his daughter. Nerves soon changed to excitement. However, he was also worried about the unknown outcome. Adolfo was concerned about being wrong but wanted to be right as well.
Waiting In Anticipation

Kiara placed herself next to the entrance to try and get a glimpse of Adolfo, like a predator ready to attack its prey. For a split second, Adolfo let fear and the staff’s words play on his emotions and considered turning back, but he threw caution to the wind and followed his heart.
The staff still believed that he was putting himself in danger and should watch her from outside, but he was determined to prove everyone but mostly himself wrong.
Everlasting Bond

Kiara did not hesitate in expressing her joy and excitement at seeing Adolfo, and she kept holding him, making up for the lost time. She was elated at seeing her ‘dad,’ and the feeling was mutual for Adolfo.
Witnessing Kiara’s playful nature was astonishing to the staff because they did not expect this from the predator. They did not predict this outcome when they opened the cage door, they expected something sinister, but Adolfo and Kiara proved that their connection was strong enough to stand anything.
