Powerful Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was a civil rights activist. She is one of the most influential women in the world because she refused to surrender her seat to a white passenger. At the time, buses were segregated in Montgomery, Alabama. Consequently, it sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Its success launched nationwide efforts to end racial segregation of public facilities. Thus, the United States Congress has called her “the first lady of civil rights” and “the mother of the freedom movement”.

More than just a funny lady, Lucille Ball is one of the most influential women in the world. She showed women that they could have a leading role in Hollywood. Not only that, but she was a successful owner of a company in a male-dominated world. Last, but not least, her character in, I Love Lucy, showed the world that it was ok to not be a perfect wife. This image was constantly being portrayed in television.

Influential Mother Teresa is honored in the Catholic Church as, Saint Teresa of Calcutta. She was a missionary who felt a calling to work and live with the poor. In addition, she transformed the Loreto convent into a simple and powerful center. It served India’s forgotten, unwanted and neglected. During her years of service, Mother Theresa established hospices, orphanages and convalescent homes. She inspired hundreds of people, religious and otherwise, to reach out to those who could not help themselves.
