Since they’ve been traveling around the world, we wanted to ask them their thoughts on the most romantic cities to spend Valentine’s Day in Europe. Here’s what they had to say:
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, just about everyone is thinking of a romantic getaway, and we can’t think of a more romantic place to celebrate your love than in Europe! From the incredible museums to the picture-perfect sunsets, these five cities have everything you need to fall in love all over again. So grab your significant other, some chocolate and roses, obviously, and run away to these incredibly romantic European cities!
5.) London, England
From high tea to the royal family, everything about London feels like a dream come true! If it weren’t so romantic, there wouldn’t be so many romantic comedies based there! Book an afternoon tea for two in the Gallery Room at Sketch, because nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like a pink room. Ride the London Eye and go to the top of the Shard for the best views of the city, and then end the day strolling through Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens. Just about everything in London makes you feel like royalty, so fake your best British accent and pretend like you’re the king and queen while you’re there, because why not? London is high on our list of the most romantic cities to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Europe.
4.) Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a romantic city, but it’s full of color and history and home to Hans Christian Andersen, one of the greatest fairy tale authors of all time, so I think that definitely earns a spot on the list of most romantic cities in Europe to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The cute streets and colorful houses are perfect for a romantic bike ride. Take a boat tour from the iconic Nyhavn and explore Copenhagen by water. And go ahead and forget all your responsibilities and run around Tivoli Gardens, the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world!
3.) Sintra, Portugal
If you ever had a childhood dream of growing up and running around a castle, Sintra is the perfect place to go to make that fairy tale dream come to life! Sintra is full of enchanting forests, secret passageways, magical waterfalls and colorful castles. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time to the age of knights and ladies. Take a day and head to Praia de Ursa to relax and play on the beach together.
2.) Paris, France
They call it the city of love because it is! Truth be told, I cried watching the Eiffel Tower light up one night, because it was just so unbelievably beautiful. It’s probably my favorite and most memorable “date night” thus far. Enjoy a long walk along the Seine, have a classic Parisian picnic across from the Eiffel Tower and wander through the streets of Montmartre. And make sure you eat a few too many chocolate croissants and Nutella crepes, because we all know the real way to someone’s heart is through their stomach.
1.) Santorini (Oia), Greece
There’s a reason everyone talks about the sunsets in Santorini – because they are truly unlike any sunset I’ve ever seen before. From walking through the charming streets of Oia hand-in-hand to taking a sunset boat cruise around the caldera, Santorini is the perfect place for any honeymooner or romantic getaway – and my No. 1 choice of most romantic place to spend Valentine’s Day in Europe! Whether you want to ride an ATV to Red Sand Beach and Cliff Jump in Amoudi Bay or enjoy slow mornings eating a traditional Greek breakfast and relax in your infinity pool overlooking the ocean and iconic blue-domed churches, Santorini has something for every type of couple.
