5 Robin and Maurice Gibb
The Gibb twins, along with their older brother Barry, were the center of the hit disco band the Bee Gees. You know the timeless classics — “Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep is Your Love” and “Jive Talkin” — to name a few. Sadly, Maurice passed away in 2003, following complications from surgery. Robin died 9 years later in 2012 after losing his battle with cancer, but their legend lives on.
4 Tiki and Ronde Barber
Not all famous twins get their celebrity status from Hollywood. Some of them earn it out on the field. Twins Tiki and Ronde Barber started out playing football for the University of Virginia. Tiki was the running back, while Ronde was a cornerback. But when it came time for the NFL draft, each one wound up playing professional football for opposing teams. Tiki signed on with the New York Giants, and Ronde was drafted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While the brothers are retired from playing football now, they both have gone on to work as commentators.
3 Tia and Tamera Mowry
Tia and Tamera Mowry popped into the spotlight with the ’90s hit TV show “Sister, Sister!” This lighthearted comedy centered around the real life struggles that teenagers often go through on a regular basis. Even though Tia and Tamera are all grown up now, their careers are in full bloom. They have their own reality television series — the self-titled “Tia & Tamera” — on the Style Network.
2 Barbara Pierce Bush and Jenna Bush Hager
Two of the most famous girls in the world aren’t known for TV shows, movies or even commercials. Everyone knows the Bush twins because their daddy, George W. Bush, was president of the United States. Plus they even made a name for themselves and showed Americans that they really are human. Shortly after President Bush’s 2001 election win, Barbara and Jenna were both charged with underage drinking, immediately putting them in front of media spotlights for the rest of their father’s time in the White House. Eventually, the twins grew out of their rebellious ways, though; each one got married and settled into a new career after college.
1 Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Everyone remembers sweet little Michelle from “Full House.” Those big blue eyes, blond pigtails and that signature phrase — “You got it, dude!” — melted everyone’s heart. But Michelle was actually played by two sisters: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. While many child actors slip through the cracks, never to be heard from again, these two entrepreneurs went on to brand themselves. They now have a fashion empire worth more than a billion dollars, have appeared in numerous movies and are respected names in the fashion world. Not too shabby for Uncle Jesse’s pint-size niece — err, nieces, technically.
