1.) Price Trackers
Holding off on something that you have your eye on to buy can sometimes pay off. Although, if you find a deal it is a good idea to buy it right away. When to actually buy or hold off can be confusing at times. Some price tracker sites that can help you decide whether to buy something now or later are Camelcamelcamel.com and Prisync. These sites show you month-by-month price variations and call out high and low points during the year. This way you will know a good price when you see one. These sites will also send price drop alerts. Camelcamelcamel.com will show you Amazon prices where Prisync has dozens of retailers. Price trackers definitely help you money save when shopping online.
2.) Online Shopping Coupon Apps.
Do you ever wonder while shopping if there is some kind of coupon or great deal that you are missing out on? There are great apps and websites to help you with this, Entertainment and Retailmenot. They help you look up a specific retailer and check for coupons that they are offering.
3.) Price-comparison engines
The number one rule for shopping is to always check the price first. The best way to do this is by keeping a list of the items that you want to buy and check the prices on sites like Google.com/shopping and PriceGrabber.com. They will help you know a good deal when you see one. Before you just pick up something and impulse buy, always pick up your smart phone and check price comparison apps with the bar code scanners. Also take a look at Raise. With Raise, you save everywhere you shop.
We also really love Swagbucks. Swagbucksis the largest online rewards site that gives free gift cards to its members for their online activities. Members receive free gift cards for Taking Surveys, Shopping, Searching the Web, Watching Videos, and Playing Games.
4.) Money Saving Browser Apps.
There are browser apps (add-ons) that you can literally save money on automatically, for example, Honey, Piggy, and Invisible. They search out coupons and other deals while you’re shopping. You can download them at Honey, joinpiggy.com, and getinvisiblehand.com. Piggy and Honey will pop up when you get to a site’s checkout page. It then automatically applies the best coupon codes to your order. While Invisible Hand will list coupons and other deals. They do not automatically add promo codes at checkout though. Although, it will automatically pop up when you’re looking at a particular product and give you a drop down of prices at other sites. Some other browser add ons that you can check out are ShopGenius and Offers.com.
5.) Retailer apps.
If you prefer to shop at the same stores, it pays to see if that store offers an app. Target and Amazon both have apps that you can save money with. Target’s Cartwheel app lists dozens of deals that can save you up to 30% or more on dozens of items. Amazon’s app keeps you up to date on the hottest deals and makes it easy to do some comparison shopping on the fly.
Have saving money while shopping!
