20.) Beyoncé and Jay Z: 10 years

Beyoncé started a relationship with Jay-Z in 2002 after their song collaboration which appeared on his seventh album. Beyoncé appeared as Jay-Z’s girlfriend in the music video for the song, fuelling speculation about their relationship.

On April 4, 2008, Beyoncé and Jay-Z married without publicity. Beyoncé suffered a miscarriage around 2010 or 2011, describing it as “the saddest thing” she had ever endured. In April 2011, Beyoncé and Jay-Z traveled to Paris in order to shoot the album cover for 4, and unexpectedly became pregnant in Paris.

On January 7, 2012, Beyoncé gave birth to a daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. On February 1, 2017 she revealed on her Instagram account that she was expecting twins. Furnish began a relationship with singer Sir Elton John in 1993. John proposed to Furnish in May 2005 at a dinner party with friends and family at one of their homes in Old Windsor. Furnish and Sir Elton entered into a civil partnership on December 21, 2005, the first day that civil partnerships could be performed in England, in the town of Windsor, Berkshire.

Their first child, son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, was born in December 2010 in California via surrogacy. In January 2013, the couple’s second son, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John, was born through the same surrogate. After same-sex marriage became legal in England and Wales in March 2014, Sir Elton and Furnish retroactively converted their civil partnership into marriage and marked the occasion with a ceremony in Windsor, Berkshire, on December 21, 2014.

18.) Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr.: 15 years

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr. first met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997, but they didn’t start dating until three years later … and their first date was actually an accident.

Gellar told People that they had set up dinner with a mutual friend, and when the friend canceled, they decided to get dinner anyway. Prinze Jr. was impressed that Gellar ate everything he did instead of just ordering a typical salad, like many other actresses he had been out with.

The pair went on to star together in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies as couple Fred and Daphne and got married in September 2002. Fast-forward 15 years: their son Rocky James is 5 and their daughter Charlotte Grace is 8 – and, yes, their relationship is just as freaking cute as ever.

17.) Julia Roberts and Danny Moder: 15 years

He met his wife, actress Julia Roberts, on the set of her film The Mexican in 2000. After his divorce from Steimberg was finalized, he and Roberts wed on July 4, 2002, in a small ceremony at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico.

They have two daughters together, Alice Zenobia and Penelope Athena. While Fey has amassed a net worth of an estimated $45 million, Richmond’s net worth is reported to be $3 million.

15.) David and Victoria Beckham: 18 years

Believe it or not, when Victoria Beckham met her future husband David Beckham, she was the famous one.

In a letter to her younger self for British Vogue, Posh Spice talked about falling in love with Beckham at first sight. She saw him in the Manchester United players’ lounge, standing with his family while all of his teammates were drinking by the bar. He wasn’t even on the first team yet.

“You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you,” she wrote. “He’s going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)”

Yep, okay, I’m melting. Now the couple has three sons and one daughter ages 6 to 19 … and they’re still as beautiful and successful as ever.

14.) Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith: 20 years

Jada Pinkett Smith actually met her future husband Will Smith in 1994 when she auditioned for the role of his girlfriend on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – but because Pinkett Smith was only 5’0″ to Smith’s 6’2″, the role of Lisa Wilkes went to Nia Long. So, she didn’t get the role, but she did eventually land the man … the two became friends and started dating a year later.

On New Year’s Eve in 1997, Will and Jada got married, and about six months later they welcomed son Jaden Smith. In 2000, their daughter Willow Smith was born.

The couple has been beset with all sorts of rumors about swinging, open relationships and (of course) divorce, but the duo is largely unfazed. Last December, they celebrated 20 years with a high-five. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

13.) Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick: 20 years

Surprisingly, when SJP was starring as ultimate single girl icon Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, she was actually a newly married woman.

She and husband Matthew Broderick dated for five years before tying the knot in May 1997, when they surprised 100 of their closest friends who thought the couple was just hosting a party. Instead, SJP walked down the aisle in a black wedding dress.

The couple are now parents to 15-year-old James Wilkie and 8-year-old twins Marion Loretta and Tabitha. As for how they keep their marriage happy after two decades, SJP told People it’s simpler than most people may have guessed.

“It seems so silly, but I think you’re very lucky if you like the person. I still just really like him,” she said. “I’m sure I annoy him and he annoys me, but I literally learn about him every day. I’m like, ‘You’re doing what? You’re reading what?'”

12.) Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy: 20 years

Felicity Huffman fell in love with William H. Macy at first sight when she met him at New York City’s Atlantic Theater Company in the early 1980s. The pair has a 13-year difference – with Huffman in her early 20s at the time they met – but they hit it off over their love of acting, and she talked him into dating her.

Still, it took Huffman more than a decade to accept Macy’s various marriage proposals. When Macy proposed again after a split that had lasted nearly five years, Huffman knew she had to say “yes.”

“I was finally smart enough to go: ‘I’m going to marry this guy or really lose him for good,'” she said.

The couple has two kids (17-year-old Sofia Grace and 16-year-old Georgia Grace), and they’re happier than ever … but Macy says there’s no secret to their successful relationship.

“I’m the luckiest guy, I won the lottery. I love being married to Felicity,” he told Us Weekly. “I love being married, I really like it. Although I have screwed it up before. I just got lucky. There’s no secret, I got lucky.”

11.) Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance: 21 years

Since the first day they met in college, these two have been absolutely smitten with each other. They met in college. Both Angela and Courtney met at the Yale School of Drama. Bassett graduated with a B.A. in Afro-American studies and earned an M.F.A. in Drama. Courtney attended Harvard to earn his undergraduate degree before attending Yale to receive his M.F.A. alongside his future wife. After tying the knot in 1997, the actors had trouble conceiving but didn’t lose hope that they would one day achieve the goal of becoming parents. They welcomed their twin son and daughter, Slater Josiah and Bronwyn Golden, in 2006 via surrogate.

10.) Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus: 21 Years

The rapper and part-time cooking personality tied the knot with his high school sweetheart in June of 1997.

The Long Beach, California natives have three children together: Corde, Cordell, and Cori. The couple briefly filed for divorce in 2004, but were able to reconcile.

“She’s always right,” Snoop gushed about his wife in a 2013 interview with Queen Latifah. “Because you gotta understand the turmoil and stuff that I put her through, in my journey on becoming successful, because I had no understanding of how I was doing her, how I was hurting her, and how I was betraying myself, until I became a man and realized that I had to love this woman who loved me and had my kids, and put my life in perspective and let my music and my business be secondary.”

9.) Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman: 22 years

Rodger Berman wrote a short article for Harper’s Bazaar about being “Married To Fashion” a.k.a. stylist Rachel Zoe. Zoe and Berman met in the summer of 1991. She was 19, and he was 22. She was a restaurant hostess, and he was working as a waiter in Washington, D.C., where they both attended college.

Berman also took the chance to shout out his wife (they married in 1996) and their enduring romance on Instagram. “My first date with @rachelzoe was 25 years ago today. I’ve been in love with her ever since. Baby loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done,” he said of Rachel. “You’re an amazing mother, wife and friend. Getting to spend my life with you is truly a gift.”

8.) Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness: 22 years

Deborra-Lee Furness is 13 years older than her husband Hugh Jackman. Deborra-Lee and Hugh Jackman met in 1995 on the set of her 10-episode Australian television show, Correlli, in which Deborra-Lee played prison psychologist, Louisa Correlli. The couple tied the knot on April 11, 1996 in a ceremony in Melbourne. Hugh designed the engagement ring he used to propose to Deborra-Lee and their wedding rings carry a Hindu inscription that translates to: “we dedicate our union to a greater source”.

Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman have two adopted children – a son named Oscar Maximillian and a daughter named Ava Eliot. Deborra-Lee and Hugh had tried to conceive children previous to the adoptions – however, Deborra-Lee suffered two miscarriages.

The duo remains one of the most long-lasting and lovable couples in Hollywood. Hugh, who calls Deb “his rock,” gushed about his wife in an interview last year and explained how they make their marriage work.

7.) Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick: 29 years

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are a perfect example of a long-lasting celebrity couple that still has the hots for each other.

But believe it or not, the couple first met when Sedgwick was still a pre-teen. In 2014, Bacon revealed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson that 12-year-old Sedgwick approached him in a deli in the late 1970s after watching the matinee performance of a play he was in. “A little girl was in there who had just seen the matinee, and her brother said, ‘You liked that actor, go tell him you liked him,’ and it was Kyra,'” Bacon said.

About a decade later, they met again on the set of the TV movie “Lemon Sky,” when Sedgwick was 22 and Bacon was 29. The pair started dating shortly after and tied the knot in 1988, only a year later. They have two kids, Sosie and Travis, who are 26 and 28, respectively.

6.) Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson: 29 years

As far as celebrity relationships go, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are essentially Hollywood royalty. They first met on the set of 1985’s Volunteers, when Hanks was married to his first wife Samantha Lewes (and yes, the photo above is a still from the movie – how much more romantic can you get?) For Hanks, the spark was immediate.

“Rita and I just looked at each other and — kaboing — that was that,” Hanks said in an interview with GQ. “I asked Rita if it was the real thing for her, and it just couldn’t be denied.”

The pair became romantic after Hanks and Lewes split the same year, and married in 1988 a year after the divorce was finalized. They have two kids together, 22-year-old son Truman Theodore and 27-year-old Chet. (Hanks also had two kids with Lewes: 40-year-old Colin Hanks, who’s also an actor, and 35-year-old Elizabeth Ann Hanks.)

And Wilson’s recent battle with breast cancer brought them even closer together. “You never know how your spouse is going to react in a situation like this,” Wilson told The New York Times. “I was so amazed, so blown away by the care my husband gave me. It was such a normal, intimate time.”

As if Hanks weren’t perfect enough for making you swoon in ’90s chick flicks!

5.) Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall: 30 years

They were opposites in many ways: Hall is a California boy who loved to surf; Louis-Dreyfus was born in New York City and raised in Washington, D.C. Louis-Dreyfus knew almost right away Hall was “the one.” The couple starred in Saturday Night Live from 1982 to 1984, with Louis-Dreyfus staying on an additional season. They married on June 25, 1987 when she was 26 and he was 29.

In their personal life, they’re often seen at Northwestern Wildcats basketball games cheering on youngest son, Charlie, a forward for their alma mater. Their older son, Henry, is a singer-songwriter. As for the secret to their 30-year marriage? In 2012 Louis-Dreyfus told Jay Leno she simply “found the right guy.”

4.) Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest: 33 years

Jamie Lee Curtis picked her husband out of a magazine when she was 25. No, really. She was flipping through an issue of Rolling Stone magazine when she saw a photo of three men in an article about the movie This is Spinal Tap.

“I looked at the man on the right, wearing a plaid shirt and a waggish smirk. I’d never seen him before, but I pointed at him. ‘I’m going to marry that man,’ I said to my friend,” Curtis wrote in an essay for O Magazine.

The man was Christopher Guest, who played Nigel Tufnel in the film, and the friend Curtis was with knew his agent. The next day, Curtis left her number with Guest’s agent, telling him Guest should call her if he was interested. He never did … but fate came knocking when Curtis was at dinner with friends in West Hollywood a month or two later.

“I glanced up and found myself staring straight at Chris, three tables away. He waved to me as if to say, ‘I’m the guy you called.’ I waved back: ‘I’m the woman who called you.’ A few minutes later, he got up to leave. Standing 20 feet away, he shrugged his shoulders and put up his hand as if to say, ‘I’ll see ya.'”

And she did – he called the next day, they had their first date within a week and had fallen in love by the end of the summer. Now, they have two kids: Annie, who’s 31, and Thomas, who’s 22.

As for how their marriage has lasted so long, Curtis shared some insight on the TODAY show: “Don’t get divorced.”

3.) Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne: 35 years

Sharon Levy met her future husband Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, at the age of 18, while working for her father, Don Arden, who was managing Black Sabbath at the time. When Ozzy was sacked from Black Sabbath in 1979, Sharon started to date him and took over his management as a solo artist. The two were married in Maui, Hawaii, on July 4, 1982. Together, Sharon and Ozzy have three children: Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

For years, the Osbourne marriage was plagued by alcohol, drug use, and violence, with Osbourne having even been arrested for driving while intoxicated. The couple used to physically fight regularly and, according to Sharon, they would “beat.” She has described herself as “a beaten woman” when she was at the hands of husband Ozzy where he once knocked out her front teeth. She once retaliated by throwing a full bottle of scotch at his head. The most notorious incident arose in August 1989, when Ozzy was arrested for attempted murder after he had returned from a peace festival in Moscow, USSR, and tried to strangle Sharon in a haze of alcohol and drugs. After the incident, he spent six months in rehabilitation as a result of his actions, after which time, Osbourne said she regained her strength in their relationship and did not press charges.

In May 2016, The Talk co-host and the Black Sabbath musician split after 33 years of marriage when reports surfaced that Ozzy, 68, had an affair, allegedly with his hairstylist. “Thirty-five years with someone is a hell of a long time. And I think I fell out of love with my husband and then fell back again,” Sharon admitted. She noted it was Ozzy’s intentionality in bettering himself that helped her find love again.

2.) Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn: 35 years

Kurt and Goldie are an iconic Hollywood couple, so it may come as a surprise that they actually aren’t married.

The pair first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1966, when Hawn was 21 and Russell was 16. Hawn said she remembers thinking he was adorable, but way too young.

They met again in 1983 when Russell was auditioning for Swing Shift, which they ended up co-starring in. He was severely hung-over and struck up a conversation with Hawn using a pick-up line that could (and maybe should) have gone terribly wrong.

“I just didn’t know in my mind what I was going to see,” Russell told Conan O’Brien of meeting Hawn again after 17 years. “[Goldie] had a great body, and so the first that came out was ‘Man, you got a great figure.’ And it kind of came out quickly, and it could’ve been wrong and she said, ‘Why, thank you.'”

They started dating shortly after, and the rest is celebrity relationships history – Swing Shift came out in 1984, followed by Overboard in 1987. Even now, after 35 years of dating and one son together, they show no signs of getting married. Russell has been married once before and Hawn has been married twice, both with kids from their previous marriages.

As Hawn so simply put it, “We’ve been married before, it didn’t work, so why do it again?”

1.) Meryl Streep and Don Gummer: 39 years

Come on, you didn’t think that Meryl Streep wouldn’t win this one, too? Her success and dedication don’t stop at acting – she has been married to sculptor Don Gummer for nearly 40 years.

But when the pair first met, it was actually the result of a tragedy. Streep’s boyfriend of two years, John Cazale (whom you may recognize as Fredo Corleone in The Godfather parts I and II), had just died of bone cancer, and Streep had to move out of the loft they had shared in New York City. Gummer was friends with Streep’s brother, Harry, and came with him to help her move.

It wasn’t love at first sight, but Gummer told her she could stay in his apartment while he traveled. They stayed in touch through letters, and Streep continued living in the apartment even after Gummer returned. Their romance blossomed quickly … they got married in the garden of Streep’s parents’ home six months after Cazale passed away.

The pair has three daughters and one son ranging from 26 to 38 years old, and Streep has been nominated for 17 Oscars since she and Gummer tied the knot. When accepting the Best Actress Academy Award in 2012 for her performance in The Iron Lady, she thanked Gummer first, “because when you thank your husband at the end of the speech they play him out with the music,” she said. “And I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives you’ve given me.”

Yeah, we know. “Relationship goals” is an understatement.
