If you’re a woman, chances are you’ve been wearing the wrong bra size for years and you’re not alone. 80% of women are still wearing the wrong bra size and unfortunately most are oblivious to this fact.  Undoubtedly, A 2008 survey revealed that 70% of women were wearing bra sizes that are too small, and 10% of women were wearing bra sizes too big for them.  Importantly, finding the perfect bra can be a frustrating and difficult process, and sometimes brands don’t seem to get it right. With the hundreds and thousands of bra companies out there, knowing where to begin is overwhelming but once you’re wearing your perfect fit, it’s worth it.

Adore Me and Third Love are a personal online bra companies dedicated to finding the perfect fit for every woman, without an in person fitting.

5.) Signs You’re Wearing the Wrong Bra Size

Bra Shopping

Whether or not you’re wearing the right bra size can be hard to tell, but once you know, you know. We’ve all been there, you’re wearing a bra that doesn’t quite fit right and no amount of readjusting can fix the discomfort.  Furthermore, the cup size may be too big but the band fits perfectly.  In addition, straps are difficult to adjust or you’re just in between cup sizes. All of these are indications of an incorrect size. Before you go on the hunt for your new bra, go through this checklist to make sure you’re wearing the size thats right for you.

  • Are your straps digging uncomfortably into your shoulders?
  • Are you spilling out of the sides or cups of your bra?
  • Is the back of the band higher up on your back?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’ll need to start from the drawing board of bra fitting.

With Third Love’s Fit Finder Tool, you can get acquainted with what a good bra looks like. After you vote whether or not the bra fits, experts provide a useful explanation.

4.)  Getting the Perfect Fit

Many women struggle finding the right bra sizes due to a number of factors. For starters, your size can vary depending on the brand, fit and quality of the bra. Another common issue is limited selection for women of all sizes, skin tones and lifestyles.

If You Know Your Bra Size

If you’re one of the lucky ones who already knows their bra size, then finding bras just got a lot easier. Adore Me  and Third Love works as an online personal bra shopper and uses your personal settings to recommend bras.  They takes the stress out of finding bras by catering your recommendations list based on your preferences.

Are you a full coverage girl? Do you love a good racerback bra? Are push-up cups the bane of your existence? On Adore Me you can filter out everything you don’t like and receive bra recommendations directly to your inbox.

If You Don’t Know Your Bra Size

Like most women, you’re probably long over due for a bra fitting. If that’s the case then you’ve got a few options to finding the perfect fit.  Doing your own fitting may seem daunting, but its surprisingly simple.

3.) Tips to Measure Your Bra Size

Grab a paper and pen and some measuring tape, or use this handy bra sizing calculator to help you get your perfect size.

Band

The biggest mistake most women make is measuring the wrong band size and chances are you’re probably wearing a bra size too big for you. When measuring your band size, take the tape measure and measure directly under your bust.

Bust

Measure the fullest part of your chest by wrapping it around your nipples. Round  this number to the nearest whole number. After you have your bust and band size, subtract your band size from your bust size to find the right cup size. For an even more accurate sizing, measure your bust while leaning and while laying down and enter in the measurements to the sizing calculator.

When choosing the right bra sizes, it’s important to make sure that the band feels snug on the outermost hook. The perfect bra is supposed to stretch with wear, so you can graduate to the tighter hooks overtime to keep it snug. Once you are sure you’ve got the perfect band size, make sure the back of the band is level with the front of the bra. If the back strap is too high up, you’re not wearing the right size.

Finally, check yourself out in the mirror, if your breasts bulge over the cups then you’ll need to adjust your size. Doing a bra fitting may seem difficult, but once you find your perfect fit, there’s a whole world of great bras waiting for you!

2.) I Know My Bra Size, Now What?

So you’re in the lingerie section and you see a cute bra that looks perfect. When you ask for your size, you’re directed to a section that has 3 bland colors. This is the bra shopping experience for many women of all sizes but mostly women with larger busts. This very reason inspired Third Love to create a platform that caters to women of all shapes and sizes.  In addition, no woman is left behind with bras ranging from size 28 to 58 and cup sizes from A to K. Gone are the days of settling for a less than cute bra because of a brand that has limited options.
