Cyber Monday deals predicted to set new sales record in 2019

We have a shorter buying season this year but that should not affect overall sales this holiday season.  It is predicted that Cyber Monday will shatter records in 2019, according to Adobe Analytics’ Holiday Forecast 2019. The report predicts that there will be $9.4 billion in sales which is a 18.9 percent increase from 2018.

The number predicted highest demand product will be the Nintendo Switch.  The product is already flying off the shelf.  Cost will be roughly $300.

Stay focused and make your lists.  The best deals will be happening online December 2 and 3rd.  But do not be discouraged if you do not finish your shopping in a couple of days.  Most retailers will maintain great deals up to a few days before Christmas day.  The best deals will occur over the 5-day period that begins on Thanksgiving (some call it the Turkey 5), but if you miss a deal it’s likely it’ll be offered again before Christmas.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday is a term created by the National Retail Federation to describe the first Monday after Thanksgiving. In 2005, the NRF  —  an organization that represents retailers, chain restaurants, and grocery stores — celebrated the first Cyber Monday in an effort to encourage people to shop online.  Keep in mind, in 2005, many department stores and mall retailers did not have a strong online presence.  Cyber Monday was for those online only type stores, such as eBay and Overstock.com.
