The greatest urban fireworks show in the country is in New York City. Hosted by Macy’s, fireworks are shot from barges in the middle of either the Hudson River or the East River and are viewed by millions of people in New York and New Jersey. In the space of 25 minutes, the pyrotechnics display can feature over 40,000 effects with 1,600 canons launched.

Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the fireworks. The fireworks show in Addison is so large it’s been dubbed, “Kaboom Town,” and includes war plane fly-bys, food, music and multimedia displays. The Addison fireworks display has been voted a must-see by “Reader’s Digest,” Yahoo, Forbes, the Travel Channel, ABC News, the American Pyrotechnics Association, “Travel + Leisure” and many other outlets.
