Many women fear having a baby when they see how many others end up 20 to 50 pounds (sometimes upwards of 100 pounds!) heavier after having a baby. Needless to say if you are reading this article, it doesn’t have to be this way. Even if you are breastfeeding, you can find a way to eat, move and live that will help you shed your baby weight and become even more slender than you were previously! This is not impossible by any means, nor is it a jail sentence to the gym and tiny meals forevermore. There are a few things that will help you lose weight in a healthy, clean way, even if you are breast feeding, that will prove easier than you imagined.
5 Go for Walks and Move When You Can
Walking is a great way for new moms to fit in some easy movement, especially when they’re so tired from long days and nights taking care of their little ones. Kickboxing usually doesn’t sound so fun at this point, as it’s an effort to even get to the grocery store a lot of the time! If you live near a grocery store, take the munchkin in the stroller to get some groceries. Walk to a park to read while he naps, or if you do have a lot of energy, go for a run with a jogging stroller. If you live somewhere where this doesn’t sound like a good idea (for not-so-great areas), pop in a 10-minute exercise DVD and just do a segment every now and then throughout your day as your baby sleeps. I highly recommend yoga, dance, ballet, and pilates for new moms to get their energy flowing while helping them feel great.
4 Ease Back on the Processed Foods
Processed foods were never consumed by humans before a very short time ago in the evolutionary timeline. The human body was designed for whole, unrefined, unprocessed foods, fresh off the vine, tree, bush, etc. Simply cutting out the processed foods will do your body wonders, particularly if you are breastfeeding, as you will not be passing these often chemically-doused foods through your milk to your baby. For a sweet tooth, eat fruit. For cravings, simply choose the closest thing you can as long as you can see it in its whole form.
3 Look Into Food Combining
When we talk about food combining, we talk about easing digestive effort as much as possible in order to free up energy in the body for it to work on other processes like healing and rebuilding rather than trudging along while trying in vain to digest complicated foods. An example here is that when one eats a protein, protease is released in the stomach to digest it. When one eats a starch, like grains, it releases amylase. Protease and amylase actually neutralize one another, therefore disallowing for easy digestion. The food ends up sitting in the stomach for much longer than necessary, while unnecessary amounts of digestive juices must be released and considering the body is as warm as the Arizona desert and moist, this makes for some ideal conditions for bad bacteria to flourish. There are many excellent books and nutritionists who understand and help clients to understand how to make food combining work for you.
2 Eat Lots of Fresh Raw Fruits and Vegetables
This may sound fairly obvious, but many of us don’t do it enough. Eating fresh fruit after your fresh juice in the morning until 30 minutes before lunch time is one of the best things you can do to help cleanse your body. By eating fruit alone, without anything added like yogurt or nuts, you allow the stomach to process the fruit quickly, hydrate the body, and flood nutrients into the organs.
1 Drink Fresh Juices
Fresh raw juices will be your best friend while losing weight. When you juice greens, vegetables and fruits, you are extracting the life essence of the produce while stripping away the fibers that would slow the digestion down. Although fiber is very beneficial for the intestinal tract, when you take this out of the equation you have a fresh raw juice that digests within 15 minutes, providing a quick flood of active enzyme, chlorophyll and nutrients straight into your body, allowing your body to cleanse. Just make sure your stomach is empty in order to really get the cleansing benefits of fresh juice
Losing baby weight really isn’t that hard, even if you can’t go to a gym or buy expensive foods. Simply eat whole, unprocessed foods, move when you can, relax, and learn more about the amazing help that food combining provides in weight loss and energy optimization.
