FreeScore360 provides not only valuable insight into credit profiles, but also takes security measures to help clients avoid becoming victims of credit fraud or identity theft. FreeScore360 is powered by ScoreSense, a leading provider of products in the consumer credit monitoring industry.
The enrollment process is simple, requiring basic personal information (name, address and email address) and membership security details. A client’s Social Security number and date of birth are also needed to confirm identity and retrieve credit data. The high level of security used to protect customers’ information is emphasized on the page collecting these details.
The authentication process is a series of questions based on information in each client’s credit report, which is designed to keep personal information from falling into someone else’s hands. All questions must be answered correctly for access. A valid credit card is required and is immediately charged $1. Enrollment in the service will continue and clients’ credit cards will be charged the monthly fee unless to the service is cancelled before the end of the 7-day trial period.
Once clients complete the enrollment process they are shown their three credit scores, one for each credit bureau’s credit report. The scores are CreditXpert Scores based on a scale of 350 to 850, and a provided bar graph gives an idea of where each score stands on the scale. Overall credit risk is summarized, indicating how likely consumers are to qualify for attractive interest rates on a loan.
This 3-bureau credit report is also instantly available and gives a side-by-side comparison of the information on file at each bureau–organized by personal information, summary and account history. This initial report is available for one month.
Though credit scores are the first thing clients will see after logging in, FreeScore360 puts an emphasis on credit score monitoring. Membership offers updated credit reports and scores each month, but members must login to refresh their credit data to get these updates. Credit scores are plotted on FreeScore360’s ScoreTracker tool and give insight into how clients’ scores are doing over time.
FreeScore360’s ScoreCast tool allows clients to see how hypothetical situations may affect their credit scores. Member can enter both positive and negative situations such as paying off debt or making late payments to see a simulated score to help better understand how these actions could affect a credit profile.
Credit monitoring alerts help catch errors and fraud early. FreeScore360 notifies members when important changes happen on their credit reports such as new account openings or delinquent payments to help avoid these types of situations. The Dispute Center guides clients through the process of disputing information on their credit reports with any one of the three bureaus, Equifax, Experian or TransUnion, either online or by mail.
FreeScore360 also puts an emphasis on identity theft protection. Tips are given to help consumers know when to take the extra steps needed to protect their credit in the event of identity theft, and the online Identity Theft Recovery Guide gives detailed information on the steps to take for different types of identity theft. Members who become identity theft victims are also entitled to benefits under the $1,000,000 Personal Identity Coverage plan. Restrictions apply, and coverage may not be available in all jurisdictions.
FreeScore360 members may register a driver’s license and up to four credit cards for additional monitoring, which is included in the membership at no extra charge.
For a nominal fee, members may upgrade to get premium features including:

These alerts notify a client if his or her identity credentials are posted on the Internet black market or if payday loans or criminal records are discovered under the client’s name. The Neighborhood Report plots the location of sex offenders currently living in clients’ neighborhoods and Sex Offender Alerts let them know when a new sex offender moves into the neighborhood.
An extensive Learning Center is available within the member area which provides a wealth of informational resources for clients to brush up on their credit and personal finance knowledge.
Customer service representatives are available toll-free from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. CST on Sunday.
After the free 7-day trial membership, membership continues for a monthly charge of $29.95. There is no charge other than the $1 refundable fee if consumers cancel within the trial period and the service may be cancelled at any time.
